What is NYSAE?

NYSAE is the "association of associations" which are headquartered in the Tri-State region of New York, New Jersey & Connecticut. NYSAE's members are full-time paid chief executives, and middle managers of associations, not-for-profit organizations and supplier firms. The New York association community alone employs over 130,000 people.


What are the benefits of becoming a member of NYSAE?

What is the difference between Regular & Associate Membership?

NYSAE Realizes the importance of offering members a diverse selection of benefits for their particular needs. It is that reason why NYSAE offers two distinct memberships—one for Association/Not-For-Profit professionals (Regular Members) and one for Association/Not-For-Profit suppliers (Associate Members). NYSAE holds the philosophy that it is in the best interest for the entire Association/Not-For-Profit community for Regular Members and Associate Members to interact together—to share, inform, and to offer solutions and support to their fellow members.

Regular Membership
If you are looking to advance your career while working for an association/not-for-profit organization, you will have access to resources, discounts, and networking and professional development opportunities as a Regular Member.

Associate Membership
If you provide services or products to the association/not-for-profit community, you can find invaluable resources and contacts in NYSAE as an Associate Member.


If I belong to an Allied Society, does that make me a member of NYSAE?

NO - although NYSAE is an Allied Society, each society's membership is individual.


If somebody in my company is a member of NYSAE, does that make me a member as well?

NO - NYSAE membership belongs to the individual and is non-transferrable.


If I am a new member, can I serve on a committee? And, if so, which one should I choose?

Does NYSAE offer discount programs to its members? Insurance?

YES! - NYSAE offers several affinity programs as a special benefit to Members Only. How can I attain my CAE status?

To help you achieve your CAE designation, NYSAE conducts a formal CAE Study Group Program. The CAE Study Group will assist you in preparing for the examination through evening classes facilitated by CAEs. The program encompasses all subjects covered on the CAE examination and will assist you with the completion of all materials required to take the exam. In addition, all participants in the CAE Study Group are assigned a CAE mentor to work with them throughout the process. To find out more about the CAE Study Group program, click HERE.

What are "Professional Development Sessions" and how can they benefit me?

A BYOL (Bring Your Own Lunch) Networking Series, offered by the Professional Development Committee, focusing on all aspects of career development in Association and Not-for-Profit management, held from September through June on the last Monday of each month. Each month features a different topic and is led by a professional facilitator.

Does NYSAE offer any Job Search assistance?

NYSAE knows the association and the not-for-profit community in New York and vicinity. With a membership of over 2,000 associations and not-for-profit organizations, NYSAE is able to provide the best possible career resource for job searching and recruiting.

NYSAE Career Center is a cooperative program developed by NYSAE and other respected Allied Societies of association executives. Each society brings tremendous exposure to the program ensuring the best possible search results. NYSAE Career Center is the only career network designed to provide direct access to the active career and candidate marketplace both locally and nationally.
